Joint project with TSIINKI

In 2013 – 2016, on the basis of an agreement with FSUE "Center for Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure", Morsviazsputnik took part in the development work on the topic "Creation of technical means of mobile communication in the field conditions for the complex of technical means and bases for operating areas of falling of detachable parts of carrier rockets, started from the Vostochny Cosmodrome (DW).

Within the framework of the three-year contract implementation, Morsviazsputnik developed the conceptual design, a set of working design and operational documentation, and as a result, a prototype of the product "Complex of mobile communications technical means in the field conditions" was created (CMCTMFC).

The product has successfully passed the autonomous, integrated and state tests stipulated while implementing DW, and at the end of 2015, it was accepted by TSIINKI into operation.

CMCTMFC is a unique technical solution based on modern technologies of mobile satellite communications and is designed to provide TSIINKI specialists that will perform the task of searching the fragments of carrier rockets started from the Vostochny Cosmodrome with communication.

Areas of falling of detachable parts will be located in the Amur and Magadan regions, the Khabarovsk Krai, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Sea of ​​Okhotsk.

Technical means included into CMCTMFC provide reliable radio and telephone satellite communication, high-speed data transmission, allowing organizing video conference sessions between the experts of field camps located in the areas of falling of detachable parts, and mobile field teams engaged in search of fallen fragments of carrier rockets.

CMCTMFC functionally consists of the following subsystems:

  • subsystem of voice satellite communications provides prompt voice communication using the Iridium and Inmarsat mobile satellite service;
  • subsystem of voice radio communication provides the radio communication in field camps and mobile groups;
  • subsystem of satellite data transmission via Inmarsat satellite communication channels provides the exchange of data between the field camps and specialists located at the Vostochny Cosmodrome;
  • subsystem of video conferencing;
  • subsystem of streaming video transmission provides real-time video transmission from the field camps, as well as places of discovery of fallen detachable parts;
  •  positioning subsystem provides collection of data on the location of the field groups, and their transmission through the Iridium satellite network channels.
