Strategic projects

The project on the construction of the transarctic underwater fiber-optic communication line Murmansk - Vladivostok - Polar Express - is carried out under the aegis of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) by Federal State Unitary Enterprises (FSUEs) Rosmorport and Morsviazsputnik. Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Morsviazsputnik” (national operator of the Inmarsat satellite system on the territory of the Russian Federation) has been providing the operation and development of Inmarsat Russian segment for 40 years since signing the Operating Agreement within the framework of the Convention on Inmarsat by the Soviet Union in 1976. The Russian barks "Krusenstern", "Sedov" and the training frigate "Pallada" participated in the round-the-world sailing “Sail of the World 2020" which was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Antarctica discovery and the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

During the trials that were conducted between the city of Krasnoyarsk and the town of Divnogorsk, approximately 40 km length, successful results were received for the group broadcasting service for both radio communication and data transfer, for the transfer of navigational, meteorological information as well as electronic navigational chart corrections-updates in real time. It should be noted as well that the Inmarsat Fleet One terminal can be used for transferring telematic data from different systems installed on board, like data from the fuel consumption sensors.

Morsviazsputnik   and Morspassluzhba have signed the contract in frames of which Morsviazsputnik carried out delivery and installation of COBHAM SAILOR VSAT 900 to the vessels "Murman" and "Bering Strait". The installed equipment allowed realizing maritime VSAT service based on domestic satellites on the vessels. 

During the period from 2012 to 2014, Morsviazsputnik implemented a project of network creation, that included supply, installation and configuration of the central earth station and 133 mobile satellite communications complexes VSAT FlyAway produced by Cobham plc and DriveAway by C-COM company to equip "recovery" trains of OJSC “Russian Railways”.  Find more

In 2013 – 2016, on the basis of an agreement with FSUE "Center for Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure", Morsviazsputnik took part in the development work on the topic "Creation of technical means of mobile communication in the field conditions for the complex of technical means and bases for operating areas of falling of detachable parts of carrier rockets, started from the Vostochny Cosmodrome (DW). Morsviazsputnik takes an active part in the implementation of the control and safety system of passenger cars, created in accordance with the sub-program "Modernization of passenger cars with control and safety system with diagnostic and communication elements", within the framework of investment programs implemented by OJSC "Federal Passenger Company".  Find more
