In mid-November 2020, the 12th meeting of the working group on transport of the Intergovernmental Russian-Cuban Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was held via videoconference. In the field of maritime transport, projects for GMDSS system creation in Cuba and island seaports reconstruction were considered. In addition, the Cuban side is interested in cooperating with Morsviazsputnik as a service provider for vessels with the Cuban flag.

Минтранс России, Федеральное агентство морского и речного транспорта и ФГУП «Росморпорт» приступили к реализации проекта по строительству трансарктической магистральной подводной волоконно-оптической линии связи (ВОЛС) по маршруту Мурманск – Владивосток с выходом локальных линий связи в крупнейшие порты и населенные пункты Арктической зоны. К реализации проекта привлечены заинтересованные ведомства и предприятия. Оператором трансарктической магистральной подводной ВОЛС определен ФГУП «Морсвязьспутник».

The Ministry of Transport, Rosmorrechflot and a number of Federal State Unitary Enterprises (FSUEs) have begun to construct a high-speed cable line to the Arctic. “Megafon” and Cinia have a similar project in plan. Experts are skeptical as to whether the region has enough clients to feed both projects.The news that the Ministry of Transport, the Federal Agency of sea and river transport (Rosmorrechflot) and FSUE Rosmorport have initiated the construction of a transarctic fiber optic cable line from Murmansk to Vladivostok came to RBC from the general director of FSUE Morsviazsputnik Andrey Kuropyatnikov and the head of UPT Group of Companies Alexey Strelchenko.

Morsviazsputnik will take part in the XIV international Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia”. The forum and exhibition will be held on November 18-20 in Moscow,  Ilinka Street, 4, Gostiniy Dvor premises.Transport Week is an annual business event that includes a series of nationwide and international activities dedicated to the transport industry. It has been hosted for the past fourteen years by the Russian Ministry of Transport. The event promotes open discussion of the most pressing transport issues and the strengthening of mutual understanding between representatives of the government and the business community.

Morsviazsputnik on behalf of Cobham Satcom Company would like to inform you that Cobham Satcom has decided to discontinue the entire EXPLORER 3000 Series – the range of Manual Point Fly-Away VSAT terminals. Going forward Cobham Satcom will focus on the stabilized Auto-Acquire terminals; the EXPLORER 6000 and 8000 Series.
